Narrowminded "Truths"

I came across the above quote on Facebook today. I'm not going to lie, it triggered me a bit.  Because of course I fall into category of having been single for a long time.  But then my wise old self kicked in and said wait a minute!

First, what is too long?  Had this person needed to be in another status, they would have been....they were where they needed to be. That often doesn't mean where they WANTED to be, but we generally get what we need, not what we want.
Secondly, what is wrong with being self-sufficient and independent?  Love isn't about that, it's about accepting someone for WHO they are and giving them the space to be exactly that.
And the really big piece here for me is: NO ONE is hard to love.  If you think someone is hard to love, it's because they probably need to be loved in a different way from what you know how to do and that, is more about you than about them. And that brings me to last part....if you have to convince someone they need you in their life, chances are, those are your needs, not theirs.
Don't make someone broken who isn't....this isn't truth, this just someone's version of their truth.
